There was a time not long ago, when I didn’t understand why things didn’t seem to be working out the way that I wanted them to. I was trying to open doors to new opportunities, yet I was being turned down like I never was before. This eventually led to feeling discouraged and my self-confidence was shaken.
I began to turn to God in prayer and reading through the Bible for both consolation and inspiration. After about a month of focusing on giving Him priority in my life and diligently seeking Him, I was led to the following scripture;
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:18-19.
Suddenly, it was as if a light was turned on in my head! God was revealing to me that He was changing the direction of my life! He told me that it was now time to use my talents and abilities for Him in the ministry. I accepted, believed and surrendered myself to Him, even though I had no idea where he was going to take me. When I surrendered, I now had peace like I had never experienced before!
God may not reveal to us the extent of the wilderness walk that we must travel with Him, but He does make a way for us. His light is a lamp unto our feet. In my case, my wilderness walk meant traveling thousands of miles and many nations. His streams of “living water” have always been there, no matter where He takes me.
Today, the Lord has brought me to Tampa to go to Bible school with my new wife. We are both going out on the streets and bringing the Good News of the Gospel to Tampa and beyond. We have already been God’s vessels that have brought many souls to Christ, yet the work here is only beginning…
Our prayer is that you will let God do a new thing in you!
